Irene V. (Mishio) Goodwin

CORINTH – Irene V. (Mishio) Goodwin, 58, the wife of Lewis Goodwin, passed away Jan. 21, 2013, at her home after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born Nov. 21, 1954, in Bangor, the daughter of Gordon and Ruth (Crockett) Mishio.

Irene graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, class of 1973 and the University of Maine, Orono. She worked as a veterinary technician at Penobscot Veterinary Hospital for 33 years.

In addition to her husband of Corinth and her mother of Ocala, Fla., Irene is survived by three sons, Edwin Goodwin and his wife, Victoria, Alan Goodwin and Grant Goodwin, all of Corinth; two sisters, Pam Hanson and her husband, Mike, and their two sons, Travis and Trevor, all of Hermon, and Donna Koncinsky and her husband, Brian, of Ocala, Fla., and her daughters, Jenna and Tara McCarthy; and a dear friend, Jessica Boone of Stetson.

A spring memorial service will be held noon May 12 at her home. Those who wish may make donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation, care of Sarah Harriman, 1241 Plymouth Road, Etna, ME 04434. Cremation arrangements are in care of Thompson Funeral Home. www.ThompsonFuneralHome.org
