Parkinson’s Action Network Mourns the Loss of Nadine Campbell, Former Arizona State Director
Nadine Campbell, a dedicated and energetic advocate for the Parkinson’s community, passed away on November 5.
Nadine served as the Arizona State Director for the Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) from 2011 to 2013 and had a long career as a Registered Nurse and nutrition expert. She also wrote a nutrition book titled, Why You Can’t Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too.
Nadine and her husband, Gary, became involved with PAN in 2009 after Gary was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2001. Nadine and Gary first served as PAN Congressional Coordinators for Arizona’s 5th District.
“Nadine brought a particular energy and enthusiasm to advocacy that is hard to find,” said Amy Comstock Rick, CEO of PAN. “Many advocates benefited from working alongside of her. We will miss her.”
As a grassroots leader, Nadine met with her Members of Congress, wrote emails, set up phone calls, spoke at support groups, and organized events in her local community.
Nadine also served on PAN’s grassroots legislative policy committee from 2010-2012. In 2012, she, along with other grassroots committee members, served as an integral part of the creation of PAN’s new grassroots program.
